Cellular & honeycomb blinds for west-facing bedrooms
Pleated fabric forming hexagonal air cells — a soft thermal buffer that takes the edge off a room that catches the full brunt of the afternoon sun.
Trapped air is insulation, and cellular blinds are built almost entirely from it — pleated fabric folded into a honeycomb profile that holds a still layer of air against the glass. That makes them the best-insulating interior blind we fit, which matters more on a west-facing Bantry Bay bedroom than almost anywhere else on the metro: these rooms take direct sun for the back half of every day, all year.
The thermal case, honestly stated
Single cells suit a mild room; double cells do the serious work — a genuinely cooler room in summer, a warmer one in winter, and quieter too, since the cell structure absorbs sound. We keep the claim qualitative rather than inventing a percentage: comfort and a lower aircon load, not a guaranteed number.
Top-down, bottom-up
Lower the blind from the top for privacy while keeping sky and light at the very top of the window — useful on a bedroom that’s overlooked from a terrace on the block above, a real consideration in Bantry Bay’s stacked layout. Cordless and motorised operation are both available, and the stack is the slimmest of any blind when fully raised.
Blockout or light-filtering
Blockout cell fabric gives a bedroom genuine darkness with the thermal bonus on top — the pairing most Bantry Bay bedrooms choose. Light-filtering cells suit a study or a room where you’d rather soften the glare than block it entirely.
